Very sweet and romantic wrap up to their love story. The epilogue made me so happy.

Unfortunately I found this instalment of the “Confessions” series to be the weakest one so far. At this point the relationship between Robbie, Julien and Priest is well established, the dark backstories have been resolved and all there is left to do is put a ring on it.

The story lacks overarching conflict - there are a couple of minor ones but especially Robbie’s fretting over whether his family and his partners will get along when they have already largely met came across as artificially added drama as there is nothing else left to overcome at this point. The book features no suspense that would keep the reader engaged. There are some scenes with good tension, especially Robbie’s “arrest” is quite interesting but here I had actually expected more conflict than what was shown and I didn’t like how this particular scene was handled, it made me feel like Robbie was dominated too much by his partners - in a bad way.

If you have read the rest of the series and are keen to read a detailed happy end, then go for it. But there is unfortunately no point reading this book if you haven’t read the other ones.

This series as a whole kind of went downhill for me after the first book. Both Julien's and Priest's backstories were interesting, don't get me wrong but I feel like in the end the "conflict" of the books got resolved way too soon. It made it seem unrealistic.
I was especially let down by the 3rd book as I felt like the storyline was just so cliché. It seemed like something I have read countless times before.
And book 4. Don't even get me started. Sure it was cute but it just felt kind of unnecessary. Like one extra long epilogue of sorts.
Probably wouldn't have finished the story if they weren't free on Kindle Unlimited.

This conclusion to the series was OK, but it was pure fluff. The entire book was just a series of different scenes where the characters compliment each other. A lot of what could have made the book intriguing e.g. the family’s acceptance of Robbie’s relationship with Priest and Julian, was dealt with in a bit of an unbelievable way - it sort of felt contrived. Entertaining series but no where near as good as the Temptation series.

READ MY REVIEW ON THE BLOG

It's time to say goodbye to Robbie, Julien and Priest and Ella Frank sends them off into their Happily Ever After with much love and laughter. The three unusual men are settling into their life together and there is only one more thing to do. The big family introduction. Not without reason Robbie is a little fidgety about that. His coming out was accepted by his family in stride but will they be OK about him living with a married couple?

It's remarkable how far these three have come. Robbie is an endless source of joy and smiles for the stoic lawyer Priest and his drunk state in Robbie's childhood home, seeing him relaxed and devastatingly charming made me fall in love with him all over again.
“She kept bringing them to me and was asking me to guess what she put in them.”
“Other than a shit-ton of alcohol?” Robbie said, and rolled his eyes. “Have you ever heard of the word no?”
Priest turned his heavy-lidded gaze on Robbie and grinned. “Yes. But I wanted her to like me, for you.”

*puddle of goo*

Julien has found his equilibrium after his heartbreak. He rejoices in his relationship with the other two. It's never been more apparent that these three men balance each other out than in this one. There is a sense of peace and calm they give one another that wasn't there before.
We’d always hoped for that, for someone who could balance us out. But I never knew how complete he’d make us feel.

I loved Robbie's rambunctious family and especially his father. He is the rock this family leans on in hard times. This family's acceptance of Robbie's sexuality and his choice of lifestyle was miraculous, especially when you know that they are Catholic Italians. That's definitely not something you see everyday. I loved this tolerance and acceptance. Robbie's sister has an interesting story and I wonder if Ella will tell it at some point.

The Princess, the Prick & the Priest is one long epilogue full of love and smiles and while I think that things could have been shortened that would have meant saying goodbye sooner. This lovely book concludes the series and the three men with the unconventional relationship are finally ready to start into their Happily Ever After. But I suppose we'll see them pop up in other stories now and then. That makes the goodbye a little easier.
As he sat there staring at the young man who’d walked into his and Julien’s life not too long ago, Priest wondered what he’d ever done to deserve not only one great love in his life, but two.

Ella Frank always manages to make me cry during her finales and this was no different.

What a wonderful and beautiful way to end the story of my favorite trio. This book is hot and sexy as usual but also very sweet and adorable. The absolutely loud and boisterous Bianchi clan is amazing and their acceptance of Priest and Julien into the family is so heartwarming. The ceremony brought so many tears to my eyes but it was so worth it. And that epilogue is the sweetest ever 😍😍

Also happy to see glimpses of Logan and Tate again.

This author writes such memorable characters whom I can never forget. Can’t wait to read her next series 😃😃

Yet another book where I was on board to love it, but something didn't quite click. I think that the reason (in this instance) is that the author was torn between genres, and didn't quite manage to weave them together.

Having read quite a lot in this genre, I'd say the book was stuck between NR Walker (super sweet, HEA), and LA Witt or Leigh Garrett (gritty, or thriller elements). With a bit more finesse, and perhaps some input from experts at weaving grit/drama into HEAs, this could have swept me away. But it didn't.

At times I felt we were rushing through the sweet stuff just to get to the drama. And by the time we got to the drama, it felt like it was rushed through to get to the HEA. Perhaps the book suffered from too clear an idea of where the author wanted the characters to go? Perhaps I never really believed the stakes?

I still really do like the characters - though I wanted a bit more of Julien's complexity in this one - and I don't regret reading this, but I just wanted a bit more!

Perhaps this isn't an issue with this book in particular, but rather with the genre - where books are churned out perhaps a bit too quickly without as much editing and rewriting as would make for really well formed stories that stick with me... I hope I'm wrong about that.

Regardless, it won't stop me reading Ella Frank or any of the others in this genre; I enjoy hanging up my worries for a while for these indulgences!

We are happy and in love. More than happy. We are crazy, stupid, deliriously in love.

I loved being back with these boys! This one takes place six months since the end of the last book and life is looking good for these three, they've moved into a new home and are happy as can be, but there's still one obstacle yet to overcome. Robbie still hasn't introduced his boyfriends to his family. Robbie's family are loud, boisterous and incredibly supportive but he worries that asking them to accept his relationship with a married couple may be a step too far for them.

I loved this so much. It was such a deliciously sweet and sexy book that basically just read like a nice long epilogue. I've really enjoyed this whole series, and it was such a treat to get this wonderful HEA for them.
