Loved this very last sentence: "When every contemptuous but fair thing has been said about our infernal sexual desires, we can still celebrate them for not allowing us to forget for more than a few days at a time what is really involved in living an embodied, chemical and largely insane human life."

The book touches on interesting topics and a different perspective on sex, but its vocabulary and way of explaining things is often too convoluted and overly philosophical to the point that it may alienate readers

Reflects most of our inner desires about sex and that attractiveness has a "formula". But has alternative viewpoints about infidelity which may not be agreeable to religious groups.

A 3.5 really, but I did enjoy the book despite its wandering into some weirdly Freudian territory.

I don't know how to feel about this one! I liked it at one point until I hated it.
Sometimes he makes good points about pornography and after that he normalizes adutery and I get confused. Also, he talks about repressing your sexual "needs" like it's the hardest thing to do ever, when it's not. It's easy not to sleep with someone, it's easy to stand there and not go flirt with someome. The hard part about loyalty is to talk your problems through with your partner.
Also a couple of techniques he suggested to revive sexual desire aren't arousing, it's disgusting.
Overall, this book urged me to read more about this very topic to get a clearer view.

I read it in one sitting. It was easy to read and it lifted a lot of weight from my shoulders. It's a must-read for those looking for an eccentric outlook on sex, love and matrimony.
