Lovely and quick romp! Edith is the lonely writer inside all of us. So pleased with the ending—that really sealed the deal for me.

For some odd reason, I've been on a classics kind of mood lately. I'm not hating it but I did just notice it.

Hotel du Lac was an okay book. It definitely started off pretty slowly for me and never really picked up either. Or maybe I was just in a funky mood and wasn't vibing with it. Or maybe everything happened at a snail's pace.

In this, you will meet Edith. She's an okay character but I honestly wasn't invested in her or the book. She is very independent and observant but other than that, she was quite boring to me. She also has my dream job, she's a writer and very successful too. I was hoping that once she met some interesting people she would become more interesting as well.

It didn't happen and all I can say is that she found something new about herself and it will hopefully make her a better person in the end. I'm also happy that I finished the book and can move on with my life.
