Totally charming fractured variations of riffs on fairytales. ;) You can feel that they don't originate in amerika, but in a good way. Bravo's illustrations are quirky and approachable - funny in and of themselves.

The Squat Bears are hungry, starving even when Puss in Boots comes to their door. He promises to help them find food. The bear that was unwise enough to take the last piece of food sets out with the cat to find food. This leads to an encounter with Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel.

This book is perhaps the best of the three. It still doesn't make it very good. Passable at best.
