Another heartfelt story from the world of Mr. Terupt. The students voices still ring true and this one touches on multiple issues that affect the upper elementary students.

My least favorite in the series, something about Rob Buyea's sequels are weird. I have also read the Perfect Score series, and again, the second book in it was worse than all of the others. Stilll a great book, though. It's been so long since i read it that I can no longer recall why I didn't love this, but i do remember it wasn't my favorite.

Loved the first book Because of Mr. Terupt but the sequel wasn’t great. I didn’t feel the same build up and great foreshadowing that I did in the first book. The characters seem not as developed either. The other problem is that there is lots of pages devoted to periods and breasts. While I think it’s important for middle school students to have books about the things they’re dealing with, it didn’t add to the story much. Disappointed.

Another winner, appropriate for fifth graders and earlier for those encountering puberty. Buyea handles the tough experiences of puberty and peer pressure. Adults, this is a great book to read and discuss with your kids, boys and girls.

The second in the Mr. Terupt series, this book picks up when the students get Mr. Terupt for another year after he is moved up to sixth grade. Following a similar pattern to Saving Mr. Terupt, the book is told in varying points of view as the young students navigate family drama, adolescence, growing up, and first crushes. I didn't like this one as much as the first book, but I think that's almost always the case with series novels. A fun read that will appeal to middle grade readers.

I think...it takes a very special book like this to make me deliriously happy at the end. Despite the fear-inducing title on behalf of Mr. Terupt, this book made me cry--happily, sadly, and bittersweetly--and laugh with every turn of the page! I wish I had a teacher like Mr. Terupt. I wish everyone had a teacher like him!

I love the characters and the story line in this book, but there are A LOT of puberty references that might be best for kids a little older (6th/7th) rather than 4th.

Once again, this one was a bit cheesy but still a fun book. I felt like this one was a lot more girl centered than the first though, which is too bad since boys seem to be represented less in young adult literature. I’m not sure a boy would love reading chapter after chapter about periods lol.
