It’s not a bad book, but it’s not exactly memorable for me. It’s my first Rilzy Adams and I’m looking forward to reading her other works (including backlogs) in the future.

As much as I would’ve liked to appreciate and relate to the characters, I didn’t. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not a big fan of novellas, and whenever I read one, it rarely hits the mark — or I’m a sucker for best friends to lovers trope that I have high standards for such plots. Whatever the case is, it’s not a disappointing book, it was okay and enough to entertain.

What I loved most about this book was that because it’s a novella, there wasn’t much space for drama and confused feelings. It was balanced and realistic, knowing the characters didn’t harbor secret romantic feelings for each other prior to their sexual arrangement.

Reading this book reminded me a lot about Blurred Lines which is by far one of my favorite best friends to lovers romance book. The drama and conflict didn’t drag to the point of exhaustion for the readers.

I still recommend this book, and hopefully most of you will enjoy it more than I did.

I guess I'm in the minority with this one but the set-up for this was a bit cringey.
I would have enjoyed it if this was longer so the tension could be built up a little more. Also the Tasha storyline was not only random but it reached a climax and then just fizzled out.

Rilzy always delivers on the spice but I actually really loved Nav's relationship with Xander and how utterly in love they were with each other's being. The banter was cute and their friendship was so beautiful.

Cute premise. This author has been on my radar for a while

Very short. Only 131 pages. Friends to lovers
The way they talked about the arrangement over texts was super cringe.

I didn’t really buy the two of them never having any sexual thoughts about each other ever but then having amazing chemistry when they got into fooling around

Only one of two spicy scenes were detailed. The rest were allusions and fade to black. Which was kind of frustrating in a story about a woman getting her mojo back

The drama that causes discord between them is super mild. And could have been resolved if the two friends who could tell each other anything would just tell each other anything lol

Read it in one sitting

✨BOOK REVIEW✨- Go Deep (Unexpected Lovers: Book One) by Rilzy Adams

Thanks to Desh for posting about this novella. It was a great short spicy read for my flight back to the east coast. Xander and Navaya are those best friends that give everyone pause and apparently for good reason. There’s a bit of miscommunication at the end but it didn’t bother me in this context. It actually made sense.

UNOFFICIAL BOOK SUMMARY📒💻🧬🎤
Navaya is a romance author who lacks inspiration. Maybe her BFF from birth, Xander, can help her get inspired.

Currently available on KU.
