2.5 stars I really liked Sander though he seemed to good to be true at times. He let Haven get away with treating him like dirt when Sander in no way deserved it. Haven on the other hand was self absorbed and negative. Yes he had a lot of bad happen, but even when he saw good he looked for the bad. There was personal growth and change that redeemed Haven somewhat but I still felt Sander could do better.

An OK read for me.
Sander seemed a bit too overkill for my liking and Haven seemed a bit too weakly portrayed.
Fine for the morning coffee, no angst, just a sweet read!

There's so many things that don't work in this story: the characters have to depth or chemistry, the twists aren't original, the names of the characters (I suppose they were meant to be whimsical) are laughable and more than anything else the repetition of the title "Blah, humbug!" over and over again is so annoying. It's not often that I read a short story where about every page I look how long I have to go before it's over, but I was doing that reading this short.

If Haven is the Blah, Humbug, Sander is truly the jolly old St Nick. He not only plays Santa but he serves at the homeless shelters, he collects winter coats and clothing to donate, and he volunteers at many other places. Haven is also shocked to find out that Sander also bakes Christmas cookies from scratch.
