I deserve every bit of heartbreak this book gave me at the end.

At 61%, I was ready to FIGHT Grace because of her decision
to choose Jaxon over Hudson. Did I (sort of) understand it? Maybe. But in NO WAY did I think it was the right choice, after everything Hudson has done to prove he loves her—even giving her up! Then, at 88%, I was LIVID!!! This girl straight realizes she loves Hudson and STILL talks about how she’s not choosing him. My heart was absolutely shattered for this man.

BUT THEEEEN, damn the ending battle got me. I cried, I gasped, I was frozen in my spot…
and she finally chose Hudson… then Jaxon died (should’ve stayed dead in my opinion) and Flint woke up—the way my heart tore in two!

I do like book 2 more than this one, if only because we got to see Hudson and Graces relationship develop, but this book was definitely close once Grace figured her shit out. Absolutely phenomenal, I can’t wait for the next one!

I’m cruising through this series. And I’m enjoying every moment, despite the fact that there are clearly some overused narrative archetypes at work. In fact I’m loving me some predictable archetypes! Forlorn vampire scorned by society, young women coming into her heroic powers, big bad scary evil guy, and of course love and steaminess. So I’m definitely continuing, but may pause to enjoy a few other reads during this intermission.

I LOVED Crush, so this was a a bit of a let down after it. A third of the book was just boring and a chore to read.
Hopefully the series redeems itself in Court.

Shiiiiit, things are getting real for Grace and her gang of paranormal friends in this third YA novel about a gargoyle girl turned master of hijinx/reluctant hero. In this installment we are treated to a visit to a secret treed city of Giants, a sexy trip to NYC, a dangerous deal made with a beautiful witch, a short but dangerous stint in jail, and not one but TWO resurrections/miraculous healings. I still maintain that this series is silly. But it's like a train wreck and I can not turn away. And there are still three more books to go!
