Five stars do not seem enough for this baby right here. As soon as I reached the last poem I hugged my kindle, thanked Nikita for existing and Amazon for recommending this to me, and then went right back to the beginning to read it again, it was so fucking good.
To me, poetry has always been about the connection with the words, how it touches and clicks and resonates with my feeling, experiences, soul etc. etc. you name it. Your Soul is a River did exactly that. I found myself reliving stuff and tasting back memories I've stored away for a long, long time. I felt accomplished and back-patted and reassured. I felt understood and like my struggles were not taken for granted.
Yes, there are some poems that sound/read very similar, and yes, I'm sure there are more thought out collections out there... I couldn't care less. When a book has the power to move you, it's your duty to spread the word and tell everyone and anyone to read it so, what are you waiting for? Go read it!

this poetry collection was very beautiful written however i did feel like it lacked substance. it almost felt as thought there was no distinction between each poem and they all just were a variation of each other. the only section i felt offered more of a deeper meaning was the final section ‘heal’.
