Another Steinbeck, another five stars. An exploration of (male) pride, filled with wonderful prose. There is a section in this play-novelette that uses the image of passing seasons so strikingly, it made me gasp. Steinbeck has definitely become my favourite author over the past year and this piece of writing confirmed it.
