A sort of taster for chemistry. I enjoyed the casual narrative style but find it hard to retain info and interest without a unifying concept. I feel like this books mission was to spark interest in the fact chemistry is all around us and I think it did that successfully. I just personally want a little more in-depth knowledge to keep me thinking once I put the book down. I think this would be useful for teens and young adults.

A fun, but detailed book about some of the chemical processes we encounter in everyday life, including how toothpaste works and how alcohol is metabolized.

I wasn't familiar with Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim from her videos, but I was delighted with the clear way she presented concepts of chemistry from the world around us. I don't know how much I'll remember in a week, but it's a worthwhile listen.
