no thoughts just that i love how jiang xing loves
What a gem 💜 I might be alone here but this feels like a very toned down, small scale version of QJJ, with more humor, a lot less characters, much smaller geography, and more light-hearted (but with substance!) and sweet. Lots of scheming and the couple is kind of similar. Watching Lin Qingyu fall in love little by little was so sweet.
MC: Smart, aloof, cold, cunning, loyal, manipulative, holds grudges
ML: Charismatic, clever, loyal, kind, “lazy” in everything but his pursuing of MC, shameless yet embarrassed, green flag when it comes to consent ✅

-i enjoyed this a lot!!
-Lin Qingyu was such an interesting character and I liked watching him open up more (only to Jiang Xing though) until he was just a simp
-Jiang Xing was so fun, I loved his humor. Loved watching him willingly be less and less lazy just so Qingyu could live more comfortably
-really enjoyed their banter, scheming, and the court politics (aka Qingyu plotting to assassinate anyone who does them dirty and Jiang Xing cheering him on every time)
-some parts felt underdeveloped, but overall it was very fun and I loved the main couple
-Jiang Xing's multiple deaths :( I do wish the author went more into those though, I love when angst really hits, but in this it seemed much lighter
-the extras in the modern world were so cute. I'm glad Huaishi also got a good ending

Extremely fun book filled with comeuppence for villains and lots of political intrigue. It has a unique selling point in being told from the perspective of the one watching the transmigrator instead of the transmigrator themself, lending an air of mystery. The protagonist is beyond compelling and carries us through three different (but the same) love stories. Heartwarming and heartwrenching at once.

This story is sweet and satisfying, but I think the romance is not really the highlight. The highlight is how Lin Qingyu, our MC, uses his brain to scheme and murder those who disturb his peace. The romance is kinda slow-burn for me, but ML is really patient and happy to support MC's scheming. In conclusion, they are a power couple! >.<
However, the political part later in the story, somehow didn't really suit my taste because it seemed... dull? And the modern era extra was pretty boring for me (no ill intention here) that I contemplated whether to finish it or not.
