As a reader with her own athletic goals, I found Ronda Rousey's words to be indispensable. Rousey and her sister, Maria Burns Ortiz, wrote an effortless narrative. Rousey's life story is down-to-earth and relatable, even though I haven't been a judoka since age 11 like her. The chapters about Rousey's father made me cry. I was riveted by the descriptions of judo training and tournaments. Much like a book I read earlier this year (It's What I Do), My Fight / Your Fight was yet another book that I read exactly when I needed to read it.
Every chapter started with an inspirational yet broad anecdote. The core of the chapters were personal and applicable to any sport. Training and competing in judo and MMA translate directly to boxing for me. Basically, Ronda Rousey works her ass off. She makes me want to work my ass off, too—and I'm certainly on my way.
"How you feel is entirely in your mind. Your mind has nothing to do with your environment. It has nothing to do with anyone around you. It is entirely your decision."

Inspirational, motivational, enlightening. Will read it again in the future and I look forward reading more books this amazing woman writes.

Ronda Rousey is an interesting person. I like what she's done for women in the MMA and the whole time you read this book- you realize that everything that everyone speculates about Rowdy is nothing she's never noticed before. She knows people love to hate her. I loved how she described the fights in great detail because after I read the book, I watched all her fights again. I watched her struggle as well. All in all, we can see that things have gotten different from the writing of this book to her last fight with Holly Holm. She still has a good career ahead of her. If Ronda's goal was ever to be famous, she's got it! As far as the writing skills, Ronda and her sister were an OK team for writing this book together. Sometimes the words they used or expression was repetitive but I think that's part of Ronda's personality. I recommend it if you are a woman and a fighter.
I have to admit, since I do not watch tv, only listen to selected podcasts and read a few books, i was far from the Rousey-Mania. I can not recall how I "got in touch with her", but I was hooked by that professionalism, commitment and charisma. When I found out she had a book, I decided to read it. I took me 1 week and I wish she's preparing the sequel. Rousey its an outlier, she is incredible. I do not follow MMA of UFC, but as an individual, she is outstanding and her story is worth reading. This book is inspirational, raw and unique. I'm into bios either, so props to her, for glue me to my Kindle. I also got the book during tough personal times; I related to each pages and the struggle she has been through. Much respect to her and I will be looking forward to read the sequel.
This is one of the most inspiring books I ever read. I don't follow UFC or any other fighting sports; as a matter of fact, I didn't know about Rousey until a recent interview in The Tonight Show where the book was presented. I added to my queue just to read something different (I don't normally read biographies). I can say I'm glad I added the book and read it. Rousey struggles in and outside of the octagon, her hard work and dedication, and her focus on winning are an inspiring story that everybody should read.
This book is a must read for all teenage girls out there even if they are not interested in the sport. The book is a great example of how hard women have to work to make it in a men's world, and the importance of believing in your-self and your abilities. Rousey's courage to pursue her dreams against all odds makes her a role model for all young girls out there. More Rousey and less Kardashians.

Ronda's book brought me to tears. Her childhood was in a sense so devestating. Her drive is incredible and reading about her journey was very fascinating.
Книга, которую надо перечитывать в моменты напряженной борьбы.
