I love how Matt and Sabrina went from friends to friends with benefits to enemies to enemies with benefits to frenemies to lowkey frenemies to friends to lovers. And I love Sabrina. I love how she knows she's great with what she does, plus she's hot af and she also knows it. AND I LOVE HOW THERE IS NO THIRD PARTY DRAMA INVOLVED because that kind of trope is tiring af. I ended up liking the person who was supposed to get in between their relationship lol.

But eh.. I wish that this wasn't rushed during the last two chapters because I felt like there was so much more Matt and Sabrina had to talk about. And her friendship with Ian like why didn't the author really dive in deep with that when it kept being implied that they're as close as siblings could get. This also could be said for the first book aka Ian's book.

I'm loving this series, so good!!

Our next couple in the 21 Wall Street series are Matt Cannon and Sabrina Cross. We've seen these two in the previous book and they intrigued me ever since. I knew their chemistry will be explosive and it's no surprise I'll enjoy this... A LOT.

Hard Sell is a frenemies-to-lovers book and the youngest broker of Wall Street is in trouble. Matt's reputation is tainted after a bachelor party in Las Vegas and headlining on newspapers. His clients are wary which caught his bosses' attention. To fix his troubles, he asked his frenemy, Sabrina, to be his fake girlfriend and convince his clients he's a committed man. However, they had a deal wherein their arrangement is professional: No hookups and no falling in love with each other.

*Sighs* I'm enticed on Matt and Sabrina's relationship. They're so compatible and I can't help swooning. They may be cynical with each other but their chemistry? FIREWORKS. I love their constant bickering and sexual tension. Both of them have problematic parents making them commitment-phobe and in spite of their issues both characters are independent, career driven and strong-willed.

It's only Sabrina who can put up with Matt and remorseless call him out. She got the sass and toughness I love in a heroine. She helps everyone but fears falling in love with Matt because it might be unrequited. I'm sorry Ian but Matt dethrones you as my favorite hero in the series. I love him and the only thing I dislike is when he took time for him to profess his love for Sabrina. Just a minor setback. The ending almost tear me up when he redeemed himself.

I'll definitely read more Lauren Layne's books. I'm starting to love her novels and I can't wait for the final book because it's about Kate and Kennedy. I'm betting it'll give me lots of feels.

Final rating: 4.5 / 5 stars

The characters were enjoyable enough, but they were not particularly dynamic (for me). The conflict between the two main characters was a little too unfleshed out for me, so it felt like a "big thing" that never really actually set up much for me. The pacing at the end also felt a bit rushed.

very nice Read, but I missed a part of their story - like their first meeting. I would really've liked to read about it, as it was an important point in their history

Could not put this down! Loved it even more than the first book in the series. I was intrigued by Matt and Sabrina when reading the first book so I'm excited to get his story. These two are so HOT ... although this book is a take on the whole enemies to lovers trope, I think it was so well done.
It wasn't just a series of petty arguments ... there was so much more than that. They are both struggling and their difficulty with vulnerability makes for a great story. I love the characters in this series ... they all work together so perfectly! You won't regret reading this one.

This one will be released on September 4th!
