Why did I do this to myself again?
Lets just say that the second book being better than the first isn’t even that good of a triumph. I hate the fact that I probably will finish the series just because my stupid curiosity is too much. But I will not be enjoying it, that I guarantee. The only way I’ll enjoy it is if Callie and Des get some fucking couples therapy.

I don’t even have much to say about the things that actually happened. One of my biggest problems is the absolute wattpad-yness of the writing. Its so fucking cringey que me dan ganas de restrellar este cabrón libro contra la pared cada vez que leo ‘cringey-cringe’ o ‘yaasssss’.
The only thing I liked was that the book actually attempted to try and make Des seem suspicious. Callie actually thought to herself that she wouldn’t care if Des was kidnapping soldiers, she would still love him. That, in my opinion, makes their relationship really fucking dark, but the book seems to gloss over that and tries to make it seem like thats how relationships should work???????
My issues with the treatment of Temper’s character have only doubled with the addition of Malaki. I thought their roles would be a lot more prominent (given the fact that we finally saw her power and he was introduced as Des’ first friend) and yet they were used for 1 thing and then completely forgotten.
The very few things I wanted from this book were: more Thief of Souls, more Temper and Callie being actual friends, and spice. Instead, I got ‘Des and Callie take the Night Kingdom’ and a vacation in Flora. And less spice which was the one good thing the first book had.
There are so many potentially good characters its actually painful.
