This one's a classic, or so I've been told, but as much as I loved the fabulous artwork and the narration style, I didn't find the overall story to be that enjoyable. Maybe it's just the fact that I've been growing out of superhero fiction, something I've been feeling a lot lately, or maybe it's just because it's ancient and I'm only reading it now, after having read countless other works on similar themes. The ending was really beautiful, though. I'd give it a 3.5.

Possibly the best comic ever written.

Nice wholesome ending
Lots of interesting ways it could go from here, but there's nothing that feels like a major loose end (I know that, because I'm not annoyed after the ending XD).
I'm curious about the effect the whole Gulag situation had on the...inmates - like a deeper dive. Don't know if there's a comic about that - would be pretty cool.
Definitely enjoyed the art style, it's something I've never seen before.
Some of the prose/narration was BEAUTIFUL.
I connected emotionally with several characters, several times.
All in all, a fun read, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
