This review is for Blooms and the Boss by Lindsey Jesionowski, part of the Falling for the Boss collection.

Blooms and the Boss is a super cute, and super quick read. And I do mean QUICK. If you're looking for a full-length romance you can get lost in for a few hours, this might not be your ideal choice for the moment... but if you're looking for something bite-sized that can be read in one sitting, this is definitely up your alley. This took me less than an hour to read, probably closer to a half hour.

With such a short story, it can often feel like it's in some way incomplete... but I didn't find that to be the case at all here. Do I wish it was longer? Sure! I really enjoyed these characters and their chemistry so I definitely would have enjoyed seeing them in a full-length novel too... but I also didn't feel like the story was missing anything either. There was a lot of story packed into a small package, and I enjoyed absolutely every single minute of it. If you're looking for a short and sweet rom-com, this is definitely worth checking out.

**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Reviewing two of the stories in this collection.

Review of Blooms and the Boss:
This is a sweet little novelette. I enjoyed it. It’s a single POV brother’s best friend/boss-employee/second chance (sort of) romance with some forced proximity and one-bed happenings. Since it’s short, it just summarizes the past and gives some important moments in the present as the relationship develops and feelings are revealed. It was short but gave what was needed and it was a satisfying short read. Mia and Ben were great characters. I was happy to see their HEA. This is a clean story without harsh language.

Review of The Second Love of Charlotte Dodd:
This is a fun little single POV action/romance novelette featuring Charlotte Dodd, an intelligence agent featured in a series by the author. Never fear, this story can be read as a standalone. There is enough background and explanation given to keep the reader engaged and informed. This is a friends to lovers story, with the added element of working together, forbidden romance, and an imminent change to boss-employee. The stakes are also amped up by a life-risking intelligence operation. It was fun to get a brief bit of action in the story. I liked Charlotte and Ham as main characters and want to go to the series and read more about them. I also enjoyed the brief introductions to supporting characters. This is a fade-to-black romance. It has one half-uttered harsh word, spoken in extreme circumstances.

I received a free copies of these books and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.
