PS :
i'll admit that last line kind of made me cringe... those "omg they said the title of the movie in the movie!!!" memes were the first thing that crossed my mind. makes sense though, it had to have been an actual trend for it to become lame by now.

I definitely see how much of a feminist milestone this book is and appreciate the cultural impact it has had, but still it didn’t move me. It was a fun read, very summer-y, very breezy without being superficial. I did find the protagonist annoying at times though (which to be fair was the point I guess) and just wasn’t very moved by the story overall.

Oh man! I’ve been reading a whole lot of comments that the book was bad because Cécile is an unlikeable & spoiled brat, but that’s the entire point!

The authors ability to tell a big story in a little book, including character development and absolutely NAILING what a rich & spoiled teenager sounds like… It’s unreal.

I always value & respect other people’s opinions but I personally won’t hear a bad word about this book.
