It had some funny parts, but I doubt I will ever read it again.
1/2* -Stuart doesn't seem nice. I expected a cute, heartwarming story. I guess it was somewhat cute.
-Doesn't seem right - among other things -how he was concerned about the bird, yet kept doing other things.
-The end... that's all!?!?
I enjoyed the writing, but not so much the story's details or incompleteness.

Woweee. This is definitely one that falls into "The Movie Was Better" category. At times it holds the same whimsical and nonsensical delight that the movie holds, but Stuart is actually kind of a douchebag and some of this did not age well at all ("Women just can't understand these things," Stuart whines, after ruining a date with a kind-hearted little Thumbelina because things didn't go exactly his way). The book jumps around a lot and doesn't have the solid heart and warmth of the movie and has no closure whatsoever. Here's hoping Charlotte's Webb holds up better, because it is also on my list. I probably would have rated this a little higher if I'd read it as a child, but it definitely does not hold up.
I did not realize until very recently that Stuart Little was a book. I grew up with Stuart Little the movie as a kid... I am glad they made the movie how they did because I remember enjoying it much more than I enjoyed this book. That ending was awful. Most of it was awful.
I should have just continued my life without ever reading this book. But I felt like I needed to after I found out it was a book.
