Buckle up, fellow readers, because once you dive into "Wildfire" by Hannah Grace, there's no turning back. From the moment I cracked open its spine on that fateful November day until the very last page, I was on a whirlwind journey through the captivating world of Maple Hills.
The heart of this novel lies in its characters, particularly Russ and Aurora, who leapt off the page and nestled themselves snugly into my heart. Their journey became my journey, their triumphs and struggles echoing within me long after I closed the book. What struck me most was Grace's masterful use of alternating perspectives. It wasn't just reading; it was living alongside these characters, seeing the world through their eyes, feeling their joys and pains as if they were my own.
And emotions? Oh, they ran wild. Laughter bubbled up from within, tears threatened to spill at every turn, and my heart raced with anticipation with each twist and turn of the plot. What started as a casual purchase quickly transformed into an emotional roller coaster, leaving me breathless yet utterly fulfilled.
Now, here's a little secret: I stumbled into "Wildfire" unaware that it was the second installment of the Maple Hills series. But let me tell you, dear reader, it didn't matter one bit. Grace's storytelling prowess ensured that I felt every nuance, every heartbeat, without missing a single beat. That said, if you're anything like me, you'll want to savor every moment of this literary journey. So, do yourself a favor and grab hold of book one before diving headfirst into this wild ride. Trust me; you won't regret it.
In conclusion, "Wildfire" isn't just a book; it's an experience—a whirlwind of emotions, a journey of self-discovery, and a testament to the power of storytelling. So, if you're ready to lose yourself in a world where every page is ablaze with passion and possibility, then look no further. "Wildfire" awaits, and trust me, you won't want to miss it. As for me? I'm counting down the moments until I can reunite with Russ, Aurora, and the rest of Maple Hills in book three. Until then, happy reading, fellow adventurers.

I really liked this book and I loved getting to know Russ better. I found myself actually loling many times throughout the book, which isn’t normal for me! I liked the narrators as well, I thought they fit their personalities. There was a minor miscommunication trope but nothing that derailed the plot, in fact the two main characters often discuss how they don’t want to miscommunicate again. I read icebreaker last year and I think I liked that a little bit more, maybe because it focused more on their found hockey family and we missed a lot of that in this book. I liked the friend group at summer camp well enough, especially Xander, but I guess I found myself not getting too attached since I know he wouldn’t be back at school with the two MC. I think I found icebreaker to be a little spicier, which makes sense since the plot of this book is that Aurora and Russ can’t fraternize while working at camp together, but there’s plenty of tension. I might reread in a few years but it’s not going to be one I gravitate toward unless I forget the plot.

We know this from icebreaker, but Russ’s dad struggles with a gambling addiction and it’s a main plot point.idowns11's review
