Absolutely loved this probably even more than I did the first one in this seriesss
Loved that for the most part any conflicts weren’t based around miscommunication and despite their issues their relationship was fairly healthy :)

this book is perfect for a fun, light read — a happy thing to look forward to reading during your day and a solid book for those with escapist tendencies. if you’re looking for something more, though — deep characters who struggle together and work hard to earn their personal and relationship developments — you probably won’t find that in this book. the book is solidly written, but the only conflicts in it are some personal insecurities (lack of self confidence and detrimental attention-seeking behaviors) and family problems (a gambling addiction and an absent father). despite all the complexities attached to these kinds of issues, they are shallowly developed and seem more like labels than anything else, as they don’t really seem to stunt any sort of progress for the characters. the solutions to these problems are also super easy-feeling and don’t seem to carry the same weight the prose would have you believe.

the author does go out of their way to avoid the miscommunication trope, which i appreciate in romance, but the payoff didn’t hit me as hard as i wanted it to. i really enjoyed the characters, though. russ is super sweet and caring, which always makes my heart happy with mmcs, and aurora is fun and lively. she is more open about her sexuality and sensuality than other fmcs, too, which is refreshing. like i said, it’s a solid book, and i think it’s worth a read if it fits what you’re looking for in a romance.

if you’re someone who gauges what romance they read by the spice level, i rate the spice level one out of five. the spice is fairly straightforward and basic. it has the element of forbidden hookups, but it never really feels like the stakes are high enough, especially for those who are used to heavier spice.

🌶️ / 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
The sex scenes are explicit but pretty basic.

A little too long, but still very enjoyable!

Hannah Grace knows how to write characters with a personality and a life outside of their romantic relationship, which I really appreciate. The relationships in both Wildfire and Icebreaker are so healthy (a litlle too sappy sometimes but it's okay) and we need more of that in rom-coms.
The camp setting was fun, a nice escape to summer as I was reading in the middle of a cold january.

i loved this book. i love how hannah grace writes, like i wanted to when i was 12 and attempting to write a romance novel. there is never more than 3 pages of conflict and it always ends happy. it’s cheesy and spicy but it’s so addicting and makes you kick your feet. i loved russ and aurora. i thought the side characters added a lot as well and enjoyed the inclusion of characters from icebreaker. it wasn’t top tier writing by any means but it made me escape to a world that seemed better than this one and that’s all that matters to me when i read. i could've done without the epilog though.. the spice was really good and the humor made the drama of the story more lighthearted. i enjoyed hannah’s ability to include backstory of characters, it seemed more thought out and detailed than those in icebreaker and made the constant romance a bit less cliche.
