This was a fun little book! I really enjoyed this as a second in the series! It doesn't really have much of Nate or Stasie in it, which worked for me! It was a cute little love story that didn't over stay it's welcome! There wasn't a lot of drama that gets in the way. I really enjoyed it!

Summary: Russ is another player on the Maple Hills hockey team. At one of the end of the year parties the team throws. He runs into Aurora Roberts. They flirt and have a really great night together. She leaves right after they finish and Russ didn't end up asking her out. Fast forward to Summer Camp! Aurora and Russ are both counselors and start their love story! They learn that they both actually like each other but have to keep it a sercet so they don't lose their jobs. Russ has problems with his dad, who is an abusive alcoholic and a gambler. Aurora gets ingored by her father who is a big shot in the racing world. After they become official Russ works on his issues with his father and he begins the steps to get clean. Aurora finally stands up to her dad and ends their relationship. The book ends with them going back to Maple Hills and dating. It fast forwards to several year later and Russ and Aurora opened a bookstore near the Camp. They got married and Aurora has rescued a bunch of animals. Russ's father loved to help rebuild the store. The whole gang is there to help open the bookstore and everyone seems happy!
Favorite Part: This is cheesey but I loved the ending! I loved that Russ and Aurora got married and she rescues animals! I also love as she is giving a speach she says "and to rescuing all the animals!" and Russ yells out "NO!". I also love that at one point she acknowledges that they are not the miscommunication couple! Like thank you! I hate that in romance books!
Least Favorite Part: There was a part when another camp counselor tried hitting on Aurora. I think it was a set up for the jealous troupe, it didn't really land for me. Nothing really came from it. There wasn't a big fight and no miscommunication, so I guess that.
Favorite Character: I really liked Russ in this book! He was kind and smart, a hard worker, and really showed he had true feelings for Aurora. Just overall a good guy.
Least Favorite Character: Really all of Aurora's family. Not that I hated them, but they were the most annoying.
Overall Thoughts: I really liked this book! A little better then the first one! I liked how well these characters mixed and the romance felt earned! I also just love the ending! I love that they got their bookstore, rescue animals, and I really like that they didn't have kids. At least in this book!
Score: 5/5

Straight nonsense but much much better than icebreaker

I am not the demographic for this book. It just feels too young (college aged characters). I’d say those who are 18-23 would enjoy this more. It was on my TBR since I listened to Icebreaker.

The cutest camp romance! I’m not a hockey fan so I didn’t want to read Icebreaker but I read this one and loved it! You also don’t have to read Icebreaker to know what’s going on. I gave it 4/5 because it was a little slow at times but I still loved most of it!

In my opinion, not as good as Icebreaker, but still a fun read! The characters did not have as much chemistry for me and I would have liked the camp kids to be more involved to make the setting more fleshed out.

Otherwise, cheesy but enjoyable.
