Suchhh a cute read. I think I liked this more than Icebreaker because the focus wasn’t so much on sex (there are still some good scenes), but more on longing, trust, and friendship, as well as steamy stolen moments.
Russ is a member on the UMHC hockey team, and he meets Aurora at a party at the end of the year. They both end up working as camp counselors in Maple Hills because they want to take a break from their home life. Russ’s dad is a chronic gambler and his family has been broken apart by this, whereas Aurora’s dad is cold and focused more on business and his new girlfriends than his own wife or daughters. After a steamy night together, they think they won’t ever see each other til they both end up at the same camp.
Her friend Emilia comes with her and they make a new friend named Xander, short for Alexander. The story changes POVs as Aurora and Russ finally reach a point of admitting their attraction to each other and helping each other overcome their trauma. They are so stinking cute together. Russ is so shy and sweet, and Aurora is such a silly, party girl that they balance each other out. I loved their date to the bookstore as well as the night of the thunderstorm when they comfort each other. They begin sneaking around to hook up of course, mindful they don’t get caught, and they really work together as a team til the very end.
I also appreciated how the author included other members from the previous book such as Stassi and Lola, and all the hockey guys. I loved the moment when Aurora asked them why they all call him “muffin,” and none of the guys even know, so stassi has to explain. This was a good follow up sequel with a different flavor of romance.
4/5. Cute romance, a perfect summer read!

Enjoyed it more than icebreaker because there was a bit more of a slow burn in some ways and the characters were funnier

No me gustó, pero no lo odié como para abandonarlo. Al menos creo que me gustó más que el anterior de la "saga".

This was super cute! Loved that both MCs had real stuff going on in their lives that gave them depth.
This was also possibly my favorite epilogue ever.
