The first half of the book is pretty good, but like the last half especially the last quarter it just drags on forever like there is no point to the plot. Clearly just extended to fit in soo much smut. I can't even push myself to finish it.

First off I picture Russ as an entirely different person than she describes. I like the way Hannah writes and that we are in a universe instead of one couple we are focusing on we continue to live in the same place but have a new story. The way she set this up was nice and the no fraternization policy that Russ is too nervous to brake until it's too hard not to in the storm. Overall they bond over their Dad issues and the fact that they both have bad self images of themselves and need the validation from one another. I would totally read again, can't wait for the next one.

felt like i had to be in the delulu to fully enjoy it, and i wasn't

I was reluctant to continue with the series as I hated Icebreaker so much, but this book exceeded my expectations. They were buried six feet under, but they have been exceeded nonetheless. I enjoyed the characters and their complete refusal to be 'miscommunicators'. The plot was relatable, and the third act conflict was easily resolved, which I enjoyed. That said, the first half was so much better than the second half. I assume it's because there was a wider cast of characters in the first half who really lifted the mood and brought a lot of humour to the group. Either way, I will continue with the series with higher hopes.
