QOTD: If you were backed up into a corner, would you fight or flight?

“I’m never going to let you go,” he said, his voice holding a vow in it that made a shiver of fear run through me. “Maybe not,” I breathed. “But I will run away the moment I get the chance. And I will get the chance, Blake.” He clutched me tighter, a growl in his throat. “Then you’d better run fast, sweetheart, because I’ve never lost a race in my life.”

~Personal Thoughts~
We're back! Obviously I dived straight into the sequel and I am now more obsessed than ever.

This book definitely had a slower pace than the first installment. We spend a lot of time focused on inner monologues that help set up the beginnings of redemption arcs for each of the boys, despite the atrocities they have committed previously.

What I did love was that Tatum is not deterred from her revenge plan, no matter how sweet these boys are acting towards her (on occasion). She made a list and is checking it twice (cute: Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do). She wants an eye for an eye and won't stop until these boys are gravelling in front of her.

To counter all these dark scenes, we get some of the most hilarious scenes in typical Twisted Sisters fashion: the squid emoji conspiracy, the new list, the crossing off of rules, the game of dares.

The finale is absolute bonkers and let's just say...shit goes dowwwwnnnn. Big cliffhanger energy, with just a little sprinkle of happiness before everything turns sideways.

I'm currently halfway through the third book which is filled with even more WTF moments, keep an eye out on my stories for live reading updates.

Audio Book Review
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book in the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series. Where do I even start? This book is amazing. The Night Keepers gain their fourth and final member. Tatum and the boys set rules for each other. They get to hand out punishments if and when the rules are broken. The lines might be starting to blur between Tatum and the Night Keepers. She is realizing that there is more to every side of the story. That ending though! I can’t wait to dive into the third book! Bridget and Jake Bordeaux are both absolutely phenomenal narrators.

I keep waiting for this series to get better. But I despise literally every single character. If you like reading about awful people being awful and doing awful things with less than zero character development, this book is for you.

monotonous

This isn’t a bully romance. This is torture and abuse.

There are no redeeming qualities of these boys. They don’t get better. They continue to torture the FMC and she just allows it to happen. I know the twisted sisters have extreme bullying in their books. I read zodiac Academy and was traumatized at first but ended up loving it after the MMCs redemptions. These go too far and don’t get better. I won’t even go into how annoying the FMC is. This book was incredibly repetitive and way too long for what happened. Nothing happened until the last 5%. This book had no right being this long.
