I felt this book spent A LOT of time jumping between character POVs and not so much time pushing along the main plot. It was nice to see how feelings can change over time as they all struggle with it, but, it still seemed almost unreal and their feelings felt centered around existing because of the vow.
Also, when what the Unspeakables actually did comes out, girl, I was just as shocked as you Tatum. Here I was thinking the Nightkeepers were just assholes too, but nope, those pieces of trash deserved it all.

These dudes sure shower a lot

Okay, so this is the book where all my dreams of new girl punishing the kings came to fruition. She gives it to them good and it is very satisfying. BUT they give it back just as good. And she's like, I'm supposed to punish them, but gosh darn it, they're just so sexy that I can't keep myself from getting my rocks off. And very very conveniently, she finds out that they people they bully DESERVE it. For real? Like, this couldn't somehow be explained in the first book?
I dunno. It started out good, but then got kind of lackluster. And I think there was a sex scene in there somewhere. I'm not sure. It might have been the teacher? It's hard to remember where these books begin and end because they end abruptly.

Kyan's fried food breakfast update:  still no idea what fried food that dude is eating for breakfast. I guess I will persevere into Book 3 hoping for answers.

Tatum, that is your teacher. He is old. Any old adult dude lusting after a student is creepy. And can you please not get naked waiting for your dad to arrive? Girl, in a series full of your bad decisions, this is the ickiest.

Nash, she is a child, and your student. Be less gross, you giant creeper.

Okay, aside from the icky student/teacher thing, this is a wild ride. Not long on sense or plot, but somehow fun. A lot of this book was really juvenile "payback" Tatum devises, that are ridiculous nonsensical fun. Don't think too long about the plot, or lack there of. Just read for the vibes. Everyone relationship is horrifying and really unbelievable and abusive, but, just hand-wave that away and pretend the character redemption arcs are redempting.

Christ

My head is spinning and I need book 3 now. I loved book 1 and the suspension didn’t disappoint in the least.
