This book had a ton of potential, and there wasn’t anything wrong with it. But it’s forgettable. I bet I won’t remember a moment of it within a week.

While I appreciated the story as a whole, I felt the resolution felt unfinished and incomplete. I wanted more from the characters, and there wasn't enough substance behind the actions the characters took.

Liked Cleat Cute way more :,/

This took me a minute but I've really enjoyed this author before and I had been promised some hot sex scenes, so even though I was pretty bored by Elsie's character from the jump, I stuck with it. I am glad I did for Ginny mostly - I loved their storyline (particularly once they returned from the titular honeymoon) and found the representation of a fat NB masc woodworker just so real and refreshing.

But the third act break up was so very forced and over dramatic. Also I agree with others that the pacing of this was off. I didn't have a problem with how quickly they hooked up, but I think I would have preferred their difficulty in coming home more nuanced than what we got. I also could have used way more time with the other queer characters in this story, and less of Elsie's family. And Elsie for that matter.  Anyway, it wasn't my favourite novel from Wilsner, but it had some good moments.
