I really would've liked a warning on the period sex because that scene was UNCOMFORTABLE AS HELL to experience.

second queer romance of pride month! this was fun, definitely a cute beach read. i liked the friends-to-lovers storyline, but
i did feel like elsie suddenly asking to sleep together was so jarring compared to the pining from before - i feel like a more slow burn would have been more in character.
overall a decent romance!

but also meryl wilsner try to not bring up ginny's weight for no reason every other sentence challenge!

Meryl Wilsner has one-upped themselves yet again. My Best Friend’s Honeymoon includes all of my favorites (and then some!!) friends-to-lovers trope, romantic destination getaway with of course only one bed, ALL of the Minnesota connections and references, Animal rescue and adorable foster pups, and epic swoon & spice the icing on the cake.

Porn with a bit of a plot, they’re great at writing spicy scenes but they really focus on that for this book.

This was my first book by Meryl Wilsner. I liked it enough. I enjoyed the relationship between Ginny & Elsie, especially how Ginny pushed Elsie to ask for what she wanted in life. I felt like the moment Elsie finally asked for more with Ginny was too sudden and I was waiting to read that she was dreaming that they were about to finally be physical. I wasn't too thrilled with the way the third act breakup happened, it felt like Elsie was overreacting to me. I would still like to try some of Meryl's other books though.
