High school English teacher Cressida Irons has never so much as jaywalked in her entire life, let alone break rules that would get her fired or even thrown in jail. But when temptation presents itself as King Garro, the prince of the Fallen MC, even God himself wouldn't be able to resist.
It should be known that I have read all the other Fallen Men books (save for After the Fall) and it honestly just felt disrespectful to have not read this once, and hence I am now here having read it. I love Giana's writing, and it was nice to go all the way back and meet all the characters all over again and get a little bit more of an overview into this world.
King was undoubtedly the highlight for me. The way he loves is everything. I genuinely do not think anything compares to how deep his devotion for Cressida is and I absolutely adored him for it. For an eighteen year old, he was definitely more eloquent than any high school kid I have ever met but it was really easy to believe he had that eloquence about him because of how Giana writes him. He's definitely something special. It's also a huge testament to her writing because we don't even get a King POV and I was still able to feel that level of affection off the pages.
Now, please hold your pearls because I'm probably going to anger some people. Personally, I did not like Cressida. Though I felt bad for her in the beginning because she was shackled to a mundane life she never wanted to part of, I didn't like the way she was so flaky with King when all he did was show her unconditional love. While I understood her predicament, her behavior really irked me at times. I was infuriated because he did everything for her and all she did was pull away. It felt like she didn't deserve the sheer force of his love sometimes.
Anyway, Lionel Danner will still be my number one all time favorite Giana man. I am not ashamed to confess that I was straight up salivating every time Officer Danner showed up on the page because how can you not? He is everything. Time for a re-read? I think so. Bye now!

I loved this even more the second time around. A strong alpha male with a forbidden romance with his teacher. It sounds scandalous, but the way its written is pure perfection. Can't wait to reread the rest of this series

I saw this book recommendation on BookTok and since the description sounded intruiging, I wanted to give it a try.
You know I love taboo/dark romance's and I really wanted to like this but I didn't. I couldn't get into this story and I was cringing so hard. Especially over the fact how many times King called Cressida babe. Of course, it's okay to use it as a nickname but King used it too much and it got on my nerves.
I didn't like any of our main characters and I couldn't feel their chemistry at all. I didn't care for the smut either (I'm a smut girlie) and I skipped these pages.
I DNF-d it at like 90% because I couldn't finish it. I just didn't care for this book, I'm sorry. I feel bad for writing negative reviews but sadly, it wasn't for me.
