Some interesting observations and explorations of gender and patriarchy. My favourites were ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ and ‘If I Were a Man’.

A good short story to read while you lose your mind inside your tiny, tiny apartment... In all seriousness, reading this in the middle of a lockdown is (hopefully) a once in a lifetime experience. Rated this a 3.5 mostly due to personal preference, but all in all a great, quick read with an important feminist message!

Charlotte Perkins Gilman is surely an unsung heroine of the feminist movement, eloquently and logically writing stories of women succeeding in all areas of life and proving themselves just as capable, if not more, as any man. The yellow wallpaper has a fantastic thrill of horror, particularly to the modern woman who would have had a similar fate in the 1800s. Each story different but with a care message the same throughout - don't you dare underestimate a woman.
