It’s a solid 3.5 couldn’t get to a 4. 14-20 year old me would have given it a 5. Cute, cliche, nothing unexpected from a book of this genre. I wish they would have developed Alberts character a bit more. He’s the main love interest and is just glossed over the whole book for this other frat boy love interest that adds nothing to the story. I feel like this could have been a super cute mm romance but instead it’s a weird YA meets mm romance with all the focus for half the book on characters that didn’t even need to exist. If I were to rewrite this is would be a love story of Albert and Jay without all this side drama that adds nothing to the other all story.
jeg skal stoppe med at læse YA. "det er så barnligt" ja duh
While we would all love to believe that moving to a gay mecca like Seattle will make our lives better I think this book might take it a little too far. It is difficult for me to review this story, so I will stick with what I liked a did not like about it.
What I like: Jay and the main love interest are both nice and are generally good people. Jay meets love interest at a GSA meeting, so that seemed more realistic. The dating scenes were cute.
What I did not like: too many lists. While it is cute at first, I found the lists annoying at the end. At times I felt that story was about lists. Jay seems really conflicted between two guys (A) really hot and nice guy at his high school who is nice to him, and (B) a college sex maniac who just wants to fuck him. Call me romantic but I don’t see that as much of a choice. All the drama in this story is based around a total lack of communication and that bothers me. People assume Jay did a bad thing at point (a Jay seems to agree) with out anybody really knowing anything about the event or list in question.

I believe that any story can be worth reading no matter if you're outside the advertised market or not. A good story is a good story. In this case the characters were so willfully, well-done teenagers it drove me crazy to the point I didn't enjoy it as much as someone living those wild, hormonal years would.

Amazing! A good teen rom-com vibe and loved the message! Can’t wait for more books by Jason!
