I found the first third of this novel surprisingly dull. Nevertheless, I persisted, and the story became much more compelling in its post-Bill years. Many of the mundane details from early in the book are evoked in later situations, becoming more relevant and paying off after all. I found it more upsetting than comforting to read this alternative history at this particular moment--but Sittenfeld, not surprisingly, pulls it off well.

I loved this, and I feel simultaneously sad about this future that we didn’t get. I’m going to need a little time to digest, but the portrayal of complicated women was so so well done.

Appreciated this take amidst the current world. Couldn’t put it down—read the whole thing in a day and a half. An intriguing plot and a relatable writing style gave this book an entertaining and enjoyable edge.

I was skeptical about this book at first but received a free copy so decided to read it.

Omg. I am blown away. I've read Prep, Eligible, and American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld. I liked and was entertained by Eligible and American Wife. I loved Prep and Rodham.

A lot of things in this book resonated with me. I enjoyed reading about the politics in this book as an East Coast political junkie.

This was the first time I’ve read fiction based off non fiction, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I loved the concept - what would have happened if Hillary didn’t marry Bill - but I ended feeling disappointed and deprived of how different life could have been with the events depicted. This book let me understand and view Hillary in a whole different light, and it was refreshing.
