Go to Old Delhi, and look at the way they keep chickens there in the market. Hundred of pale hens and brightly colored roosters, stuffed tightly into wire-mesh cages. They see the organs of their brothers lying around them. They know they are next, yet they cannot rebel. They do not try to get out of the coop. The very same thing is done with humans in this country.
Really enjoyed reading this one! The author describes a corupt India but also a country that starts being a leader in science and technology.
The story is like a monolog, well, actually it's a series of letters from Balram Halwai, known as The White Tiger, a driver, murderer and entrepreneur, to the Chinese President before his trip to India.
Told in the first person, it was funny and serious and a bit disturbing. Also shocking and eye-opening. Definitely worth the read although it won't be to everyone’s liking.
