Ampuero pulls no punches in this short yet unflinching collection. These are brutal stories with searing social commentary — right up my alley. I loved the beginning and middle of most of the stories, but many of the endings felt abrupt and fell a bit flat for me. Still an absolutely worthy read, though. For fans of Eric LaRocca, Carmen Maria Machado, and Agustina Bazterrica!
