Solid. I liked Ava, she wasn’t a pushover. I liked Grey and his pyro ways. Good, quick read.

This was my first book by this author. I'd heard nothing but good things, so I was really excited to read it. That's why I knew nothing about her writing style. You can imagine my shock when, right at the beginning of the book, she threw a spicy scene in my face! Not that I'm mad at all, but the only problem was that I was on a plane full of people, and I had to try to keep a straight face.

It felt a little like Grey was hiding who he really was, almost like he put on a mask. The man he was with Ava when they dated is so different from who he is now—like two different people. So, when they met again after years, it was like, girl, you have to get to know each other all over again because he's not the guy you left when you were just a teenager.

Personally, I like Ava better. She's a little fighter and goes for what she wants. On the other hand, I had a hard time connecting with Grey. He had some really nice moves that made me swoon, and Ava deserved that soft side of him. I'm happy with the ending; I liked how everything turned out. I'd say it was a 3.5-star read for me.
