Yeah Emma sucked for like 95% of the story. The beginning was really good but the rest of it was just cringe.

I don't know how to express how much o loved this book. Kate and Vivian are perfect together, and Ash was so insufferable, I wanted to push her so much. Big up for Charlie, though.
I highly recommend this book and can't wait to start the part 2.

A new favorite! I'm not sure I had read a romance before where one of the leads is deaf. If so, I definitely hadn't read a book where I was so immersed in that world, and I *love* when a book can expand my horizons that way. I loved that Kate and Vivian were so complicated together, yet so obviously meant for each other. This was a really beautiful romance that had me both laughing out loud and tearing up in all the right places. Highly recommend!

4.5/5 stars: I actually forgot to add this one to my currently reading list.

I first read this as a SwanQueen fanfic (pairing of Emma Swan and Regina Mills from Once Upon A Time) and fell completely in love with it. Knowing that it’s now a series makes my heart sooo happy!

Kate, a cellist and a member of Chicago’s finest Ochestra, has a son called Max. She meets Vivian the president of the board, who also happens to be deaf and like every worlds collide story, fate intervenes.

This was somehow even better than the first time I read, there was a different feel to it this time. I was referring to the characters as I originally read them, Emma, Regina etc, which made it sort of a fun game yet also confusing at the same time.

I look forward to reading the second instalment of this!

I must say I always loved the original series of The Loudest Silence.
I still love the characters and the story, and I am truly happy for the change of one character in specific.
Though since both books have been molded in to one there's just stuff missing for me, it feels too fast and sometimes it feels to abrupt and that it didn't read as fluently as the former version.
Nonetheless I love some of the extra scenes that we didn't have in the previous books.

This was one of those books I have a hard time putting down to do ya know, thing I should be doing in my life haha. I think I could call this one a feel good story, there's a touch of angst and sadness, but it was especially sweet, heartwarming, funny and surely educational. And since the story is told in single POV, Kate's, unfortunately we don't get to see Vivian's, I bet it'd be fire, she's feisty!

Both MC and LI are amazing, after being dealt hard hands in life they still have so much good to offer each other and other people. I loved them, especially because they are not perfect; they make mistakes, but you give them time and they come around, which IMHO, makes them and their relationship even more believable and lovable. Their chemistry was strong from the very beginning. Normally I'd think all the steps they took would feel a tad "rushed", but with them all felt right, like it's the natural thing to do. And the side characters were just the same, quite rich. Even Stephen grew a bit on me, but just a bit lmao.

This is just the second time that I picked a book with one of the main characters being deaf, the first one was the French novella [b:PASSERELLES|20506027|PASSERELLES|Julie Lezzie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1389380737l/20506027._SY75_.jpg|34980138] by Julie Lezzie, a very interesting reading, with them being in the "pre-mobile" era (early 2000s) and such. I'm mentioning it because it made an impression, just like The Loudest Silence, and it was the first time it dawned on me, just like Kate, that I should do more than just be thinking about trying.

Anyway, one couldn't go wrong picking TLS. It's balm to the heart. ACTUALLY, with that end I believe it'll be a crime if we don't have at least a short story with more tales of these folks.

One word: wow!
This book completely blew me away. Ms. Janae has a knack for writing complicated characters. I fell in love with Kate and her slightly hesitant way of handling things. I fell in love with Vivian and her ice cold facade and then the vulnerability lurking just below the surface.
What a story.

Kate Flynn is a professional cellist whose career has taken her all over the country. Her latest stint in Chicago begins with a rocky start when she accidentally offends the board president and resident ice queen, Vivian Kensington. Kate, desperate to make amends takes Vivian to dinner and the two quickly become friends and then more. Vivian’s immediate connection with Kate’s son, Max set the three up on a delightful journey of self-discovery, vulnerability, and family. I loved everything about this book and I commend our author for writing such a captivating character as Vivian with her intelligence, grace, charm, wit, and yes, deafness. This book has easily found itself in my favorite book category!

Update: Abby Craden does an incredible job narrating this story! Her ability to infuse depth and emotion into her performance is the perfect accompaniment to Olivia Janae's beautiful writing!
