  • A Court of Frost and Starlight is the holiday novella set in the ACOTAR universe! I was excited to listen to the audiobook as I loved the series and thought it was a perfect read for January. For the most part, I enjoyed this, as we're reunited with Feyre and her friends as they prepare for the Winter Solstice. This was pure indulgent found family time and I was reminded how much I love the dynamic the Inner Circle has 🥰 Of course we also see the fallout of ACOWAR and how the Night Court is still trying to rebuild itself after the war! Everyone is dealing with their own trauma and tries to cope with what happened.
  • In the end, this novella didn't really hook me though. I enjoyed my time reading it, but it wasn't anything memorable and felt a bit too indulgent. I wasn't expecting a grand plot, but I didn't feel like there was enough development and cohesion in the narrative. The novella felt like a bunch of fan-requested scenes, which is fine but didn't help make this memorable at all. Almost a year later and I can barely tell you what specifically happened. I only remember Nesta's antics annoying me and still not liking Lucien after all the excuses he keeps making for Tamlin.

I honestly didn’t think I’d love this book as much as I actually did. I love the acotar series, especially for the action, conflict, keeping you on the edge of your seat, etc. At first I was a little disappointed that this book was a novella and focused on the character relationships but the book came through!!!

I loved how we got to still see conflict, mainly internal conflict, and still got to dee the romance and tension;). 

Honestly we got new perspectives on recurring characters like cassian , got to dee some depth into his usually carefree character. And some reasoning behind why nesta is as stubborn as she is. I loved it!

Not much happens in this book, it’s profoundly mediocre. It revolves around Winter solstice party and it’s essentially an extended epilogue of ACOWAR. Basically, this is the Hallmark Christmas movie for ACOTAR. I know it’s supposed to be a transition to the Nessa/Cassian storyline of ACOSF. This book feels like it could have just as easily been ACOTAR fanfic, if it didn’t have many of SJM’s overused phrases. But it has a few good moments, mostly in character interactions within the Night Court.

This is so sweet and inspirational. A wonderful reprieve from the heavy content of the first three books. I loved the different POV's and the character interactions. They were realistic and not rushed.

I really liked this book.

This was a cute little companion novel to the series. We got to see through several different character POV’s, which was nice. This was short and semi-sweet, and was likely written as a lead up to the next books plot and why Nesta is the main character. With Feyre focusing more on Valeria and her family, and tensions rising with the Illyerians, I can see why this book was written. It’ll be odd to read a book without Feyre or Rhys as the main characters, who knows? Maybe I’ll enjoy it.
