This one’s been a bit of a Kindle/TikTok thriller fave for a while, so I went in with pretty high hopes. And honestly? It is a really smart, well-constructed book. The timeline jumps around a bit (left me a little confused for a while), but once things started clicking into place, you can tell it’s all been carefully plotted. It’s sharp. It’s clever. It’s doing the work.

But… I didn’t feel it. No gasping, no yelling “WHAT?!” into the void. It’s giving more mystery than thriller, which is fine—just maybe not what I’m in the mood for right now. Definitely a case of “it’s me, not the book.” I can’t really fault it, it just didn’t give me that 5-star feeling.
