This was a pretty good read. I was lured in by a reel on instagram and did not know this was a MMF. Not a bad book. The FL was good, I liked that she was inquisitive and asked a bunch of questions. But this quite reminded me of Hunger Games. Not in a bad way, but there is a reaping and districts but the similarities end there. There are dragons and a curse and a lot of lore.

Yesterday I read #akingdomofflamesandflowers by #ravenstorm .
It is about this kingdom who every five years has a competition with girls from all over to win the chance of moving up in the world, getting to marry a noble, and move to the Seat. This year is a little different because the competition is to the prince.
*spoilers ahead*
Our main FMC is from the mud district. Her name is Mari. She fought for years to not be taken from her mother because the mud district is for the poor and she didn’t want her mom to starve, especially when her brother was taken. Mari eventually gets taken when she’s the oldest one left and the rest of the girls her age died off in a flux five years before. Mari gets herself in a lot trouble with running her mouth but it ends up catching the eye of the prince who was pretending to be a guard. The Seat is basically where the upper nobles and royalty live and everything is under a dome because of a curse and the dragon trying to take their city. Come to find out it’s because the Queen did something stupid when she was going and she cursed everyone. She gave birth to twins who can turn into dragons and she’s hiding it from everyone. Mari ends up finding out when she punches the dragon in the nose and he turns human. The book for me did get a little weird because every five seconds when she was with one of the twins, they were always trying to feel her up or sleep with her. I feel like it took away from the story. I mean im all for smut scenes but these were just weird for me. The princes are also ignorant to the curses and that their mother, the queen, is hiding secrets especially with the nobles who are apparently rotting. Mari in the end of the book goes to escape and runs into a rebellion.
All in all it wasn’t a bad book, it was a quick read and I read it in a day. Haven’t decided yet if I want to read the second on or not.

The book has a solid world building aspect to it but would love to have that map to add to the immersive feeling of the story.
I enjoyed seeing the idea of fractions brought back up I haven't had a book that includes fractions in a hot second, I also enjoyed how each fraction was completely different from one another in physical aspect and characteristics of the people.
MMC high key just annoys me like I can't stand them .
semi-predictable

The storyline has potential but it came off overly simplified. if the book was longer and there was more time to setup the scene, the characters, and the background - it would've been a much more enjoyable read. (is it too harsh to say it reminded me of a fanfic?)
