gave it 4 out 5 stars just because I am mad at the ending >:( how dare he come back
Relationships are complicated, and even in sorrow one character anticipates coming joy. Unfortunately Mrs. Mallard has only just begun to feel joyful at the freedom she anticipates her husband's death will bring her when the man of the hour arrives, and the surprise itself kills her. Out of joy, they think.
