I really think The Beast is the best of all of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. The book made me laugh and cry and sometimes I was laughing and crying at the same time. I've never had as much trouble reading the last 150 pages of a book as I did this one because I truly didn't want it to end. There are lots and lots of books that involve a couple meeting and getting through whatever ups and downs they go through and then ending up together, but what happens after that? We've invested time with characters and are glad they've ultimately ended up together, but then what? This book answers that question. It is wonderful to spend time with Rhage and Mary again. We get to see how their lives have moved forward and also catch up with the rest of the Brotherhood. I'm not one for re-reading books but I've actually already started this one again. I hope you enjoy this read as much as I did.
J.R. Ward...you can count on her for a 5 Star book Every.Time. She never disappoints. And, I can never put her books down.
This book is no different than the others. There's a mix of characters, but the main story is Rhage and Mary. The premise: Family.
We got hints of Assail and Layla. Hopefully we get some more of them in the next book.

NOPE! I think after 13 books, I've finally hit my limit with J.R. Ward's writing style in this series. I read the first page and there were at least 4 phrases that enraged me, so I decided to just step away and not proceed any further. Seriously what the hell kind of phrase is "peeper-swept"???
**Edit**
So I gave the book another try, and it wasn't that bad once I decided to ignore all of the weird nouns turned into verbs and the clumsy phrases.

I knew it! I just knew it!
Rhage and Mary finally have a family! They deserve all the happiness they're going to get.

I really enjoy reading Rage's books, he is such a sweet man but he is a dork. I am happy that he and Mary end up with having a happy ending in this book. I love how loyal Rage is to Mary and how he doesn't even notice another woman. His answer to Bitty about the woman who swoon over him is the best answer a man can give.

I cannot express who much I LOVE this series. I was very reluctant to read it because I normally NEVER read anything paranormal and it took my friend a very long time to convince me to try it but I'm SO glad she did!
THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH STARS TO RATE THIS BOOK!!! I've always loved Rhage and Mary-- especially Rhage. This story was amazing! The feelings and emotions that I felt while reading this was amazing. I look forward to the next book! ❤️
I liked this one, but I was a tad slow. I will admit it was one of the best written books in a while. I just find Mary and Rhage to be of mild interest.
