Oh how I love my BDB guys. I couldn't wait to see where this book was going to go. Even though this is supposed to be about Rhage and Mary...Lets face it we don't get just their story. We get many more sub stories in there. I am just glad she writes long books. :)
This book isn't finished though. Although we get an idea of where it is going...we know how things will turn out we just don't get it. We won't get it until the next book she puts out I believe we get it in the next Legacy book. I just have to say that Although I loved the Angels I am kind of glad that the series is over because now we get the Legacy books and the Burbon Kings. :)
There were some things that happened that left me wondering what the hell???
It was good though.... like always.
Can't wait for some more BDB.

There are parts that are that I absolutely loved.
Believe it or not, most of those parts were NOT about Rhage & Mary.

Nope, it was the parts about Assail that I found to be spectacular.
His drug dealing and addiction was put out on display. He had that moment of truly seeing himself. Oh, and the cloak-and-dagger parts with him working for Wrath, the king...
LOVED IT!

There is a lot that happens in this one. Too much to really give each element its due. So I am just going to say;

✅ The Rhage/Mary parts are good and real page turners.
✅ Layla, Quinn, Blay and Xcor all have parts that give you a gasp or two.
✅ Z and V also have some intriguing moments.
✅ There are some new characters brought in, and towards the end, one of them makes you
sit up and say,"Oh Sh**!"

Can't wait for the next book in this and the new spin off series, Black Dagger Legacy.

I haven’t been reviewing the books In this series recently, mainly because I think I lost some of my love for them throughout the past five or so books. This one however, reminded me of why I started this series in the first place. Although it was pretty light on the “romance” in comparison to most other books in the BDB I think this was much needed character development. I cried like a baby throughout this book. Im so happy for Rage and Mary and that’s all I’ll say. :)

I was not a big fan of The Shadows. I don't know if it was the way it ended, or that I had it spoiled for me. Either way, I was not happy with how it ended. I closed that book sitting on the fence of reading anymore in the series. Most of the Brother's had had their HEA's. We were down to the Shadows now, so really how much more could there be? Then here comes another Rhage book. No one, and I mean NO one, was going to keep me from reading another book about Rhage.

We know from the previous books that something is bothering Rhage. He's not himself. I had to know what was weighing on my favorite Brother's mind. In The Beast, I feel like we still get to see some of the goofy Rhage I had come to love, but we also see him on a much deeper level. We're digging below the surface exterior of tough, Lesser fighting, Tootsie Pop sucking bad boy. He's settled into his life, or so we think. He is just not the same and his actions prove that.

Mary's actions and thoughts also have us wondering just what the heck is going on with this couple. When they are together they seem to be the same pair, but you can tell that both of them are holding guilt and secrets. I'll admit, I was a little perturbed by Mary's whole mindset between her job and her feelings for her hellren. He should have come first. I know her job involves working with the survivors at Safe Place, but there are more employees than just her. Anyway, I was annoyed with her inner dialogue when choosing between the two.

When we finally narrow down the cause of Rhage and Mary's disconnect, their world seems to even out. They get on the same page. Then their story turns into a sweet story of love and family. The time they spend together will make you laugh and cry. Even knowing the end, I still tear up a little. Their story ended just where I thought it should. I can't wait to see how it all fits together in the household now.

As usual with a BDB book, we have multiple story lines. There was the Virgin Scribe, Assail, Xcor and Layla. I felt like we came to some good ending points on some of the stories and others were left so far up in the air, I don't know where we can go with them. I think they are big enough that they can't be just dropped off the series, they must be handled. Hopefully this means that there are quite a few more to go. I see The Chosen has already been announced for next year. The title makes me kind of nervous on which story lines Ward is going to focus on. I will be there though, with bells on, to pick up my copy.

The Beast made my heart melt and I was so excited to get another Rhage story. Some parts may have moved a little slow when it came to the couple, but it was still so darn sweet and happy. Rhage is definitely still a favorite Brother for me!

I just have to share this amazing story with all of you, so I'm going to give away one hard cover copy. Enter below to win. Don't forget to check out the terms!

5 stars…
This was a nice change in pace after the monstrosity that was the last book. PS, we really didn’t get a single sentence or look at either of the shadows? Seriously? Ugh…

Anyways I love Rhage and I was really upset with Mary in the beginning because I thought she was falling out of love with Rhage but that obviously was not the case. We love fostering and adopting and I am so happy.

Also I finally called the twist for once! She hasn’t had a twist or shocking reveal at the end of a book in a while but I finally saw one and knew before hand which is exciting. Wonder who she will end up with.

Happy the baby’s are okay and I can’t wait until I never hear another word about Layla again. The next books all about her and then maybe she will disappear because she’s literally the worst!

1/5 on spice. 1/5 on kink. 4/5 on tears. Ending had me crying.

1. Vishous ❤️ (with Dr. Jane)
2. Qhuinn and Blay ❤️
3. Zsadist ❤️(with Bella - the worst)
4. John Matthew ❤️(with Xhex)
5. Rhage ❤️(with Mary)
6. Rehvenge (with Ehlena)
7. Trez (with Selena)
8. Wrath (with Beth)
9. iAm (with Maichen)
10. Payne (with Manny)
11. Butch (with Marissa - should probs be V)
12. Tohrment (with Autumn)
13. TBD (let’s be honest, no one is worse than Phury)
14. Phury (with Cormia - poor girl)
❤️ = my boys

Gotta love Rhage.

Sadly, I didn't get into this book until I was about 75% through.

I wasn't all that excited to read this one I'll admit, however I was misguided. Rhage and Mary are great, do I feel like their story could have been a side story? Yes. But does that mean I didn't enjoy it? No. Did I enjoy the side stories more? Kinda. Although page after page of Rhage isn't all that bad.

It was a bit hard for me to get into this one, but things did pick up. My actual rating is probably more along the lines of a 3.5, but the overarching plot developments, the character growth, and the introduction of the new character of Jo (and to some extent Markcus) allowed me to round up.
