Not really my bag- read like a play, quite amusing in parts.

I liked the portrait of Cecil, but the end-game love affair didn't quite hit for me. A light critique/mockery of the British Tourist felt new for 1908?

Good palate cleanser. Lucy gives an iconic breakup speech. I enjoyed the prose but otherwise found this book boring. I can appreciate that this book was emblematic of the shift from the Victorian era to the Edwardian era and how it alluded to the theme of women's emancipation.
