What a great story with an excellent message! I really enjoyed this book. The illustrations were full of texture and interesting layers, which invited me in for a closer look. The main character's adventures for the day were delightful to follow. His sweet antics made me smile. As I read about the secondary character,I had the thought in my mind that a friendly reunion would take place, but that was not the case. (Smile.) It seemed the cat was definitely not a soft, "lovable," cutie. Oh no! Soft? Lovable...hmm? Cutie? That was not to be the case as far as Dylan (Dylan the Brave is my special nickname for him.) was concerned. (Bigger smile here.)

I thought this book was a joy. I have given it the highest marks and placed it on my "keeper" shelf. I would most definitely introduce this book to my kids. It would be a good conversation starter. We would be able to talk about and even have lessons on everything from facing adventures to exploring the uncommonly common to facing your fears. All of that and more in one book. That makes this a sensational read. Excellent!

I received this book from he publisher via NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. The words I have expressed are my own.

This fun little tale of a dog on a mission. Dylan finds out that what he thinks he needs to do isn't what he expected it to be.

Super fun!

Dylan the Dog has lots of things to do today: play with a ball, wake people up, and chase butterflies. However, the most important thing that MUST be done is finding the big fat cat that lives next door. If I did not know any better I would think this was my dog. It’s cute and would not be a bad edition to any library collection.
