I came very close to a DNF on this one, but just as I was about to quit, I got interested again. In the end, it was just OK.

This book took me over a week to read, which means I really wasn’t feeling it. 2.5 stars. Disappointed because I loved The Guncle!
The theme of living funerals seems a tad overdone in books these days. And I got the gist after a few chapters - most of the book dragged on in predictable paths.

I love Steven Rowley’s writing! It’s so readable and entertaining, plus he always devises such well-developed and lovable characters. I love the idea behind this book and the storyline overall. While the ending is not the happy ending one may want, I think the overall theme of friendship, love, and transparency is heartwarming and meaningful.
