The tension and the steam between Lottie and Matt is intense! The Beach Reads Book Club follows independent and bubbly Lottie in her quest to create a new book club at the local bookshop run by straight laced Matt. Matt is a mystery to Lottie in more ways than one but as they get to know each other the tension and the passion heats up until something or someone gets in the way.

An easy and enjoyable read about friendships, romance, and relationships and the entire cast of characters is great!

Thank you Netgalley and publishers for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

If you are looking for an enjoyable, funny, sweet, romantic summertime Beach Read, look no further than Kathryn Freeman’s latest - The Beach Reads Book Club.

Lottie gets booted from her quite serious book club - so, she does what any lover of HEAs would do - she creates who own Beach Reads book club, complete with people who wouldn’t have come together otherwise. This group of quirky individuals quickly become friends who support each other through lifes ups and downs. The ensemble of characters are great together and make for some very funny laugh out loud movements.

But at the heart of the story - we also find Matthew Steele, the owner of the book store where Lottie holds her book club meetings. Matthew is a flawed man, who is trying to grow, and become a better brother and son. Lottie and Matthew’s connection seems impossible as they are so opposite - but we find they complete each other and make each other better in the process. Their story is really well developed and lovely.

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. I can’t wait for more people to fall in love with Matthew (I mean who wouldn’t) and Lottie’s story!

This was a fun read. I loved how Lottie brought everyone together and stayed true to herself until the very end.

Easy, funny, and fine romance. Audiobook threw me off a bit, as the reader was not my favorite but I still listened all.

This made me want to take part in a bookclub

[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]

I received a copy via Net Galley.

After Lottie is asked to leave her book club she decides to start up the Beach Read Book Club dedicated to reading romance books. She convinces local book store owner Matt to allow her to use the cafe in his book shop to host the book club.

I really liked the characters in the book club and the friendships that were formed between the women. I really liked that the book club read romance books and the author mentioned some popular titles. I found the discussions that the book club had to be really entertaining and a lot of fun to read.
Whilst I really enjoyed this element of the story I didn't love the romance portion. I didn't feel any spark between Matt and Lottie although I knew from the start they were going to end up together.

Overall I thought that this was a fun read and will be a perfect summer read for any book lover.

Lottie is a small town electrician, a smart, loving, young woman. She has recovered from a break up a couple of years ago and now has a business, a house, friends and a large furry dog. Books are Lottie’s retreat and her love of them leads her to join the book club at the Library. But the librarian running the club keeps the selections to high brow titles and stuffy discussions. Lottie gets kicked out for trying to change things and decides to start her own club. First she needs a place to meet and what could be better than Books on the Bay, her favorite bookstore on the beach.

Matt has bought the Bookstore and moved himself, his father, and younger sister to this small coastal town to get a fresh start after his mother’s death. Matt is escaping from a high pressure financial job and a recent divorce from his unfaithful wife, so he feels they all need a new beginning in a different place. He now is trying to put all that behind by running a bookstore and cafe. When Lottie asks to hold a book club meeting in the Cafe after business hours, he is captivated by the bouncy, curly blonde who seems to enjoy everyone and everything.

The Beach Reads Book Club starts with Lottie, Sally, her BFF, Gira, a 40s something woman worried that her husband is having an affair, Heidi, a divorced empty nester with nothing to fill her days but baking, and Audrey, a 70ish woman with a fondness for sexy rom-coms and gin.

Lottie and Matt find each other more attractive every day. They fall in love surrounded by the sexy rom-com book discussions fueled by Audrey’s bottle of gin, childbirth and a crying baby, a panicking canine, and an ex-boyfriend. This is a quiet, thoughtful romance with life affirming stories of friends and family. I enjoyed this book and recommend it as a warm, funny, touching rom-com and a perfect beach read.
