I’ve had a very hit and miss relationship with Christina Lauren. I loved love and other words, autoboyagraphy, my favourite half night stand and josh and hazel’s guide to not dating but did not like the unhoneymooners, dating you/hating you, the honey don’t list, the soulmate equation and twice in a blue moon. Roomies and holidaze were fun and decent reads for me. This is somewhere between the soulmate equation and holidaze for me. The ridiculous and light plot was a plus because I think that’s where Christina Lauren shines the most. Second chance romances can be done really well like in love and other words but I didn’t like it in this. we didn’t see anything of what happened in the before. There was one conversation between them about what happened and they were back together. There was no angst or anything that made me care for them to be together. I also didn’t really care about the treasure hunt.
I’ve noticed that Christina Lauren’s books that I dislike (barring Holidaze because I did enjoy that), they’re all either fade to black or lack the steam. Their older books have much more steam and that’s part of what makes their older books better.

Definitely disappointed in this one. 2nd chance isn't my favorite trope to begin with, but with how much I loved Love & Other Words I wanted to give it a try again with this author duo. Unfortunately, this one fell really flat. I literally felt no connection to these characters. They were likable enough, but I just personally felt like the balance of action to romance didn't work out. The adventure I wanted to love, but the atmosphere just wasn't there to make me feel immersed.

There's cheesy and then there's unacceptably far fetched

Not my favorite Christina Lauren book, but a joy nonetheless! I like the adventurous romance novel vibes and it was different than a lot of romance novels I’ve read before. The plot of this book is CRAZY and the twists were really good. Leo and Lily are a lovely couple and I was rooting for them the whole time. A great read!

I LOVED this one. This was such a fun adventure with puzzles and riddles with some romance threaded along the way. There were suspenseful moments that I didn’t see coming and wasn’t sure how they would pan out. There were some to-be-expected moments, but I was in for the ride and didn’t want to put it down. I would love if they wrote more books like this.
