"Now I look ahead. My future is clear before me. The Saint of the pyre had seen the future when he chose me as his heir, as the heir of all the saints and all the martyrs who came before him and who died for the same cause, for the same word, no matter what name they gave to their cause and their truth."

This was probably the most hopeful and purposeful dystopian book I've read so far, the style is definitely philosophical and needs undivided attention to its details.

Ayn Rand's objectivism really shows and proves itself to be one of the most beautiful philosophical concepts even to this day. If you're like me and don't want to commit to reading 1000 pages of Atlas Shrugged then definitely give this a read!

Read this for school, and I was pretty impressed. Takes a bit to get used to the lack of the word “I” for almost the entire book. But the writing is still pretty good for comprehension. You also know that EVERYTHING Rand is writing is for a purpose. A English’s teachers dream. The world is interesting. The political criticism and rhetoric at the end of the book is fascinating. I also liked reading a dystopian book that didn’t make me feel depressed the entire time. All in a all a good read with a really nice ending.

This is a very short but worthy read. I read this out of curiosity of Ayn Rand's work, and I am very happy I did. It shows a dystopian future where we have regressed to the point of no electricity and the absence of the word "I." The protagonist is different from the rest of his peers as he is curious and does not follow rules. He makes discoveries and, worst of all, falls in love. The novel shows man's true desires and how we cannot be restricted from the ability to think. I think it is an eye-opening read.
