The twist wasn’t great & did not give answers to the main character’s insomnia.

An interesting premise let down by the plotting and twist, When the Lights Go Out was a disappointment

Normally, I'll bump my rating up when a thriller has a twist that catches me totally off-guard. However, Kubica went with the worst cop-out twist ever, so unfortunately I had to drop my rating, because even though I didn't see it coming, it was kind of on-par with "actually Jessie is a space alien and that's why she doesn't have an SSN." So much reading for nothing. It gets two stars for at least not being outright offensive (and I'm in a good mood I guess). But man, what this a disappointment.

This book, incredibly written, wonderful characters, compelling storyline, but my gosh, made me scream in my car. Break down in tears. And want to hurl it across the room if it wasn't an audio book. Hence, taking off stars for emotional distress. Going to take awhile to recover from that one. But well done.
