What a lovely story! So full of love and hope. I loved exploring the mother-daughter dynamic and the effects it has on one’s identity. I thought it was beautifully written and I can’t wait to read more by Davis.

I listened to the audio version of this and was pleasantly surprised by this story. While I felt the French accent made it a bit difficult to understand, the story held me captivated and I found myself throwing in my airpods to listen whenever I had the chance. This is a story of love, loss, and reunion and the themes run through every character.

I loved The Last of the Moon Girls so when another Barbara Davis novel turned up on my Kindle recommendations, I was excited. Turns out this is a then and now story about two women brought together when Rory rents Soline's former wedding gown shop to realize her dream of opening an art gallery.

Rory's fiancé, Hux, has gone missing during a Doctors without Borders mission, and the art gallery is a mix of a homage to him and a distraction from the loss.

Soline is no stranger to lost love, having fled France during the Nazi occupation at the behest of the love of her life. An instant connection is made as the wounded pair tell their stories and find out just how much they have in common.

This one is definitely more of a romance story than I typically read. I'm also not usually a historical fiction reader, and this one toes a line. Barbara Davis is a fantastic storyteller and The Keeper of Happy Endings is proof positive that I'll enjoy anything that she writes. If it hadn't been for the predictable twist, I'd have rated this one five stars. I have a hard time when anyone tries to pull off too many coincidences. Still in all a very enjoyable read. Highly recommended for anyone looking for the happily ever after payoff.

How to word this? Sebenarnya bingung ingin menuliskannya seperti apa. Terutama karakter Rory. Tapi aku suka sekali dengan mereka. Mereka sama-sama mempunyai heartache, finding their selves despite sorrow yang mereka rasakan. Nilai-nilai keluarga, friendship dan relationship-nya pun okay. Slow burn tapi tidak membuat kamu merasa bosan. Intinya, suka.
